Growing Your Faith… 52 ideas

We’ve had a mission statement since our humble beginnings in 2010. We want to ignite your faith with the books we publish. A pretty strong statement for a publishing company, I think.

But about a year ago (around the start of the pandemic) we realized it really wasn’t enough to just publish books. We needed to do more.

So… we had a meeting. A few of them, actually. Then in late October as we started talking about our plans for 2021, we realized we wanted to do something incredible with that mission statement this year.

We want to ignite your faith with EVERYTHING we do – our conferences, books, interviews, social media … and yes, blog posts.

So here we are, almost a whole month after the first of the year, and I am nervously typing this post hoping I have what it takes to publish a whole year’s worth of these things. I have to admit, I am worried about coming up with a post each week about growing your faith. That’s 52 blog posts! Won’t I run out of stuff to talk about?

I’m still kinda wondering.

But I am also trusting God.

See what I did there? I’m growing my faith. Pretty smooth, huh?

The thing is.. I know God CAN do anything He wants, but as my pastor said in last weekend’s message… knowing and believing are two different things.

I know He can do anything He wants to do, but do I trust Him to do it?

Sometimes yes… sometimes not-so-much. But here is what the Holy Spirit just reminded me…

“If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.” – 2 Timothy 2:13 (NLT)

God CAN’T be unfaithful. It is Who He is.

So… this week I encourage you to trust that He will help you grow your faith. Just hand it to Him… trust Him with it… ask Him for help… and watch Him work.

He’s really good at it.

And in coming weeks, I’ll do my part by coming up with practical tips like… how meditation on the Word works… and why hanging out with your girlfriends can be faith-building.

And it’ll be faith-building for me too because I still don’t have 52 ideas. 🙂

Love blogs. Write one myself. Maybe I’ll pick up a tip or two 😁
