REVIEWS:

This devotional emphasizes how amazing God is by providing stories of how he shows up each day for us. Various stories of hardships and life experiences are throughout the book along with scripture that is encouraging and provides wisdom to it’s readers. – Amazon reviewer

Such a breath of fresh air! One of the best devotions I’ve read in a long time. It’s like walking right into the arms of Jesus and feeling Him wrap them around you. I especially liked that the contributors did not shy away from difficult topics and finding joy and love in the midst of difficult times. So many believers are being overwhelmed with todays “feel good” and “fluff” Christianity but Abba’s Heart takes it deeper into the heart of Christ. 10 out of 10! – Amazon reviewer

Everyday Examples Of God’s Love And Mercy
This devotional is aptly named Abba’s Heart as we see examples in each story of everyday people who have some of the same issues we all struggle with. In each chapter we see how God’s loving character and His mercy and grace for us when we stumble, He longs to help us get back up again and to be in proper relationship with Him where we can enjoy the benefits of His love for us. These are transparent, thoughtful and at times, humorous accounts of the human experience. I enjoyed reading this devotional very much! This is a book to share with friends and family! Thank you Abba, Father, for saving me and for this great devotional book!

I loved the real life stories, and how the experiences enabled individuals to connect/ reconnect with God. These stories and journeys helped cement, discover, or rediscover God’s love for his people. God is always available to us.  The prayers at the conclusion of the shared journeys were especially uplifting, and inspirational.  This is the type of book that I will return to for sustenance and encouragement.

When life threw me into a dark season, it got darker because I felt alone. I felt abandoned by God’s people and by God himself. God spoke through the authors’ personal, transparent testimonies the same message he’s been speaking to me in this season of healing: you’re not alone. In your pain, in your struggles, in your big God questions…you’re not alone…other’s have been there and God has been there, too. The authors did not shy away from sharing their struggles, messes, or heartache but allowed God to use their personal stories to encourage and uplift my spirit and reaffirm lessons he’s been teaching me.
If you have been or are currently going through your own dark season, this devotional could meet you in a very real place and give you hope to continue pressing on and looking for and finding God. And if you haven’t reached that dark place yet, life shows that someday it’s coming, and this devotional could help anchor you and deepen your faith before you plunge into it.

It’s also perfect for life on the go. Each devotional is a short read, which makes it easy to fit into the day whenever works for you.

Have you ever been led by God to just the right person, place, or book during a time of hardship, so that you see God’s love and interventions in others’ lives? This is that book. No matter what you’re dealing with, you’ll understand that God is here to help. The devotional stories in Abba’s Heart touched my heart as they showed me God’s love for others during their times of trouble. Our Abba, Father cares about us. I highly recommend this book. I read all of the short devotionals in one day instead of spreading them out over a month because they were that good. They helped me in many ways.

  14. AWhittle

Insightful. Uplifting. This devotional was one of the most impressive I have read. Each individual contributor has shared deep convictions about our Father, God. I was truly moved by each day’s reflection and would encourage anyone who needs inspirational guidance for the day to pick up a copy of “Abba’s Heart.” I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

These gifted writers beautifully shared their testimonies of how they overcame and conquered difficult times in their lives (Rev. 12:11). Times when God revealed He was not far away, but close enough to love on them with His Presence and His Grace. You can know God in the same way through the power of their testimony.

Each day I read a testimony, which caused me to reflect on my walk and how God has always been there for me and my family in different ways. Each devotion caused me to go deeper in my Bible study and inspired great reflections in my journal. Their honesty and vulnerability were pathways to meeting God by meditating on His Word.

At the end of the 31 days I, too, cry out “Abba” knowing His Love is always for me.

Abba’s Heart, compiled by Tamara Clymer, is a feast! Rich, powerful, and deep, each personal story provides the truth of God’s love in a tangible way. I really enjoyed this devotion. I appreciated that there were so many different authors, a reminder that we all experience God in as many unique ways as there are people. The simple fact that each author saw God at work in their struggles offered comfort that He is in fact present in mine too. A very relatable devotion, great reminder to view our lives through the truth of God’s word.

  20. Lori Ann Wood

A refreshing read about real-life people who find discover the heart of God within ordinary life. As easy as it is to relate to these honest stories, the format also fits into a full, busy life. Short, bite-sized pieces of hope to carry throughout your day. Highly recommend to anyone needing a reminder of the loving nature of our good God!

  21. Michele and Rhi Landis

Both my daughter, a young adult, and I read each devotion, and truly enjoyed all of the stories and life applications each person gave for seeing God the Father at work in their lives and situations. There was one in particular that we enjoyed, and that spoke to us a bit more, because we know the person who wrote it. We would both encourage anyone – younger ladies and older – to pick up a copy. It will, hopefully, open your own eyes to see God at work in your life and draw you closer to your Abba’s Heart.

  22. Kathleen Rouser

Abba’s Heart, 31 devotionals compiled by Tamara Clymer, is a touching and encouraging collection of inspirational real-life stories. Again and again, I was amazed at how many of the writers struggled with not feeling adequate or that they’d failed and were unworthy of God’s love. I can personally relate to those feelings at times. And I was blessed by how each one shared how God had reached them with His everlasting, unconditional love for His children in a special way that spoke to each one. This book is a good reminder for believers in Jesus Christ that they are not alone and that they can always run to the comforting arms of their Abba!

I received a free copy for my honest review.
