Shanna is the author of Confessions of a Lip Reading Mom, the story of how she dealt with her hearing loss, and Lip Reader. She co-founded the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Kansas City Chapter in 2009. In addition to speaking to groups, she has written for Hearing Loss Magazine, HealthyHearing.com, The Kansas City Star, MOMSense magazine, and A Cup of Comfort books. A graduate of the University of Sciences and Arts of Oklahoma, Shanna holds a degree in Communication. She writes extensively about being a hard of hearing parent on her blog LipreadingMom.com.
